Questions we get
Do I need an appointment?
A hot shave or a beard shaping is booked ahead. A cut or a beard trim can be a walk-in on any day we are open, when a chair is open. Sign the board by the door.
How long does a hot shave take?
About 40 minutes, from the talk to the cool towel. A first shave is set aside 50 minutes, and a head shave 45.
What does a hot shave include?
Six steps: the talk, a hot towel, oil and lather, a first pass with the grain, a second pass across it, and a cool towel with balm.
Can I book a specific barber?
Yes. Pick Alton or Roosevelt on the booking page, or use the Book button on their card on the barbers page.
Can you cut my hair type?
We cut waves, coils, curls, twists and straight hair. Say how you wear it and your barber will tell you what the cut can do.
How often should I come back?
Most clients book a beard shaping every three to four weeks and a hot shave every two to four. Your barber will tell you what suits your growth.
Should I grow my beard out first?
For a shave, a few days of growth helps. For a shaping, bring a photo if you have a shape in mind.
What if I am late or need to cancel?
Tell us at least 12 hours ahead. We hold your chair for 10 minutes after your time. No deposit is taken to hold a time.
Do you take kids?
Cuts for ages 8 and up, with a parent in the shop. The razor shave is for ages 16 and up.
How does tipping work?
Tips go to the barber who served you, in cash at the chair or on the card machine.
